I started this site several years ago in response to a mandatory grad-school assignment to “show off” our creative writing efforts. I did what had to be done, then let it sit dormant for a few years because… well, I didn’t feel like it, and, as you’ll see, I got into other stuff.

So… why this? Why now? Two reasons, really. First, I’ve started a few ventures where credibility and reputation are important. This site is for folks to visit that want to “check me out” to see if I’m an actual person. (I am, by the way.)

Second, given the seemingly odd twists and turns in my life, I’ve often been asked, “How’d you get into that?” As much as I’d like to say I planned whatever “that” was, except for asking my best friend to be my bride, it’s pretty much been serendipity. In other words, stuff just happened and I did my best to make the best of it.

If you’re interested, this page will provide a few highlights. As far as the transitions, you’ll have to use your imagination. Those anecdotes are much better suited for some creative nonfiction stories. Besides, no sense in giving hackers too much info to play with, right?

So, there. Complete transparency. It’s not some silly attempt to share my vanity (I do that through film). Nor am I making a statement (I sometimes try to do THAT through my writing). I’m just saying, “Here I am. This is me.”
