Well, 2023 is almost in the books, and I have been neglectful of keeping my website up to date… not that anyone has complained.
Been a busy year on most fronts. Writing and Filmmaking have had to take a backseat to Family, Acting, Travel, and Music. The biggest event was that our daughter got married to a wonderful man in September. We’ve put 20K miles on the new-to-us Expedition since June, and got to visit a lot of wonderful friends and family. Even got to go hang out at the old ranch and sit on “my” front porch for a bit (ahhhhh).
So, by way of updates:
Acting – Submitted self tapes, did in-person auditions, or got a direct request for 49 projects of various types (feature, short, TV series, voice acting, commercial, promo) and booked 12 of them, so I was pretty happy with that. I got to work with a HOST of talented cast and crew. Trying to up the game in 2024 to book lead roles in features. One cool direct booking resulted in spending a day in a supporting role for a Lady Gaga “thing” that played during her costume changes during her Vegas residency. Oh, and she asked me to kiss her, but that’s another story. LEX TALIONIS was released (on YouTube). LEX, GUILT, RECONCILE and several others are making the rounds on the festival circuit. We attended a private screening for CHICKEN COOP, prior to its festival run. Very excited for that release. Filming two projects the first two weeks of 2024; one in Vegas and one in Way-the-Heck-Up-North, Minnesota (pretty sure that’s the name of the town).
Music – I continued to outfit my home studio, and am having a lot of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) in preparation for possibly playing out (gigging) more. Got to hang out with my college buddies ‘bino and Jerry up in Sandpoint, Idaho, where we performed some fun stuff at an open mic, a retirement home, and a neighborhood concert. Oh, and I broke the neck on my Taylor 814ce DLX. Don’t ask. It makes me cry. BUT… it’s currently in the shop with one of the premier guitar techs west of the east coast, getting a brand new neck. Wish I could do that.
Also been spending a lot of time studying luxury watches, which has evolved from hobby to side hustle to… pretty dang cool. As I said someplace earlier here, credibility (as real person) in that market was the main reason I kept and updated this website after the school requirement ended.
I’ll see a lot of your on Facebook, and I’ll try to keep this bloggy-thingy updated more regularly. Looks like I’ll be getting more on Instagram for Acting and Watches (separate accounts). So, if your interested, watch for that.
In the meantime, Sharon and I wish you a prosperous, fulfilling 2024 in all the ways that matter.
